Actor Macaulay Culkin dead at 22

CHICAGO (CNN) -- Macaulay Culkin, the most famous and richest child star ever was found dead Thursday in an apartment.

The cause of death was unconfirmed, although Chicago fire officials told Reuters that Macauley died of a drug overdose.

The medical examiner said Friday an autopsy had been completed on Culkin's body, but it would be "several weeks" before a cause of death would be announced.

Culkin, 22, was known for the Home Alone movies that grossed more than $285 million in the US alone, becoming one of the highest grossing movies of all time and making Macaulay Culkin one of the biggest movie stars of the time.
